Data Protection

The European Union Institute for Security Studies processes personal data in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The Regulation ensures individuals can exercise their rights when their personal data are being processed by any EU institution and facilitates the free movement of personal data in respect with civil liberties and fundamental rights. The Regulation sets up an independent supervisory body, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). The European Data Protection Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the application of the Regulation within EU institutions and bodies.

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is the person responsible for the internal application of the rules set out by the Regulation. Each institution or body of the EU is required to appoint a DPO. The DPO is to be notified of all processing operations involving personal data.

Do Not Track: Do Not Track (DNT) is a web browser setting that requests that a web application disable its tracking of an individual user. When you choose to turn on the DNT setting in your browser, your browser sends a special signal to websites, analytics companies, ad networks, plug in providers, and other web services you encounter while browsing to stop tracking your activity. The EUISS website fully respects the DNT settings of your browser.
