On 25 November, the EUISS organised an event focusing on the Security and Defence Implementation Plan (SDIP). As a follow up to the EU Global Strategy (EUGS), the Plan sets a new level of ambition for the EU in security and defence.
On 18 November 2016, the EUISS, in collaboration with the China Institutes for Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), hosted the EU-China Strategic Dialogue in Brussels.
On 27 September 2016, the EUISS and the Slovak presidency of the Council of the EU organised a high-level conference focusing on the security and defence aspects of the EU Global Strategy.
A closed-door workshop and a public conference on ‘Prospects for EU-India Security Cooperation’ was organised by the ORF, in collaboration with the EUISS and Chatham House, on 26 September, 2016, in New Delhi.
On 22 September, the EUISS and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) co-organised a conference in Brussels on the protection of migrants.
On 17 May 2016, the EUISS hosted a launch event for the recently published Chaillot Paper ‘Envisioning European defence: five futures’. This launch event provided a forum for analysts, policymakers and interested stakeholders alike to better understand how the choices of today will impact the European defence of tomorrow.
The EUISS Annual conference was held on Friday 22 April in Paris. The event marked the end of the expert outreach and consultation process for the EU Global Strategy and featured keynote speeches by HR/VP Mogherini and the French foreign minister.
