2016 EUISS Annual Conference – Towards an EU Global Strategy: the final stage
The EUISS Annual Conference ‘Towards an EU Global Strategy: the final stage’ took place on Friday, 22 April 2016 in Paris. As in previous years, the conference was held at the Collège des Bernardins, and marked the end of the expert outreach and consultation process for the EU Global Strategy (EUGS) on foreign and security policy.
Bringing together over 100 hundred people from the policy and think tank communities, the conference first offered an overview of the process drafting the EUGS with input from the document’s main pen-holder, Nathalie Tocchi.
Following two intense panel discussions, the EUISS was delighted to welcome French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, who gave a keynote address. The conference was then closed with a keynote speech by HR/VP Mogherini, who also kindly took the time to hold a lengthy Q & A session.
